You down with LOC? Yeah you know me.

The Library of Congress asked StimulusWatch.org if we wouldn't mind them crawling our site from time to time as part of one of their Web Capture projects. Of course we said that would be fine and some day you'll be able to find us in the "Presidential Transition During a Time of Crises Web Archive."

According to their FAQ, the Web Capture project is using the same harvester that archive.org uses. They also have this nice little web interface for handling permission responses from target web sites (they don't just start crawling your site without permission). Unfortunately, when I went to submit the form, the connection timed out. Either the site was down or unreachable due to firewall. I e-mailed them and a very thankful, but a little annoyed, Gina got to work undoing the firewall changes that blocked her app.

(And from our prototype backronym generator: LOC = Loan Observatory Center.)
